For this brief we had to select a sport that we did not actively participate in and then plan 3 shoots around this sport. One shoot consisting of 3 different product images, 5 editorial shots show casing a live game and finally one environmental portrait.
When it came to choosing my sport to document these were the options that I had brainstormed.
I'm really happy with how all of the product shots came out, it was something that I thought would be very mundane and quite simple. But the planning with lighting and editing that went into the landscape shot was really enjoyable. The other two weren't as strong as I would've liked but for my first time doing product photography I can't really complain.

My rugby shots were interesting. For me I wasn't happy with what I came out with. Quite frankly I'm not well enough experienced with editing scenes with large amounts of colour as I usually have a very muted style and stick to lower saturation because it's safe. So having to deal with a large amount of green was a big step out of my comfort zone. On top of this shooting a team sport compared to my usual one person subject was a nice change of pace and gave me an appreciation for the chaos of composing team sports shots as there's so many subjects to take into account.

In future it would be great to test different lighting set ups before hand with my product photography and do some different test shoots with posing to make sure that everything looks good in time for the final shoot. And especially in regards to the environmental portrait. I know that it didn't go at all according to plan but just being more attentive with what lights im booking out would've saved so much time and stress.
